El otro día me pasó una de esas cosas que crees que nunca pasan en la vida.
Llevo más de diez años viviendo en mi edificio y la verdad es que he acabado cogiendo bastante cariño a algunos vecinos.
Mi vecina de al lado, una señora mayor que lleva viviendo allí toda la vida, se muda después de tantos años y el otro día llamó a nuestra puerta para que fuésemos a su casa a ver si queríamos algo de todo lo que no se puede llevar a su nueva casa. Había unas cosas preciosas de cocina, cuadros etc, pero de repente mi vista se clavó en un rincón lleno de bolsos. Encontré allí, como si nada, dos bolsos antiguos de loewe. Yo no daba crédito. ¡Me los regalo! unos auténticos amazona de loewe vintage. Estoy emocionada porque son dos modelos súper clásicos y que ademas siempre serán un recuerdo de ella. Una vecina súper agradable que nos ha acompañado tantos años. No hay nada que más me guste que aquellas cosas con historia y para mí esta es preciosa.

The other day one of those things that you think will never happen in life come true. I have been living in my current building over ten years and the truth is that I ended up catching some neighbors affection. My next door neighbor, an elderly lady who has lived there all her life, is moving after so many years. The other day she knocked on our door to invite us to see if we wanted anything of all what she can not carry to her new home. There were beautiful kitchen stuff, pictures etc, but suddenly my eyes stuck in a corner full of bags. I found there two amazona loewe bags. I could not believe that. She gave them to me! two vintage loewe amazona model. I'm super excited because they are two classic ones also they will always be a memory of her, a super nice neighbor who has been next to us some many years. No thing I like more than those pieces with a history, and for me this one is so charming.

This is one of my favorite Lacambra bag: the mini chic. I have a camel one that I use almost every day. It is the perfect size. Now I have a new one, the baby blue mini chic. This is perfect fot the summer and I know I'll use it a lot.
El miércoles estuve entre retales, telas de todos los colores, cremalleras, máquinas de coser...fui a que me enseñaran cómo se hacen los bolsos de Lacambra. Sentía curiosidad por ver el proceso y me encantó. Se me hizo muy raro ver como de un trozo de piel aparece un bolso perfectamente rematado. Claro que esto ocurre después de mucho trabajo.
Primero viene el troquelaje. Con los patrones del bolso (cada pieza definida individualmente) se corta la piel. Después se rebajan los bordes para que queden más finos y así al doblar para hacer las costuras el grosor es el mismo. Esto se hace en máquinas de rebajar y dividir. Cuando está rebajado se graban los logotipos, antes de coser el bolso. Después se montan las piezas sobre unos tableros y se unen con pegamento para que al pasarlas por la máquina de coser no se muevan. Finalmente, cuando el bolso está cosido, se lleva a un tablero de repaso donde se añade la fornitura (cremalleras, asas, cierres...) y listo! Tenemos un bolso.
Los bolsos de Lacambra son de piel de vacuno, pero en este taller había todo tipo de pieles, encontré hasta colas de cocodrilo. También nos contaron que las piles de los animales se aprovechan del proceso de la alimentación,es decir, no se sacrifican animales para hacer bolsos de piel.
Los bolsos pueden ser más armados o más flexibles. Por ejemplo en mini chic o el flat chic son muy flexibles, la piel no está armada, pero en cambio otros llevan una capa intermedia más o menos rígida según la consistencia que se quiera en el bolso.
Así que de aquí salen esos bolsos tan preciosos. Cristina los diseña y sus sueños se hacen realidad en este taller. Ya lo veís, nada es imposible.
On Wednesday I was within trimmings, fabrics of all colors, zippers, sewing machines... I went to learn how Lacambra bags are made. I was curious to see the process and I loved the experience. It was so weird to see a perfectly topped bag comming from a piece of leather. Of course that's possible after a lot of work.
First comes the cutting. Having the bag patterns (each piece individually defined) the leather gets cut. The edges should be thinner so when you blend them the thickness is the same. This is done on cut and split machines. Then they print the logos over the pieces, before sewing the bag. After this the parts are joined on boards and glued all together to pass them through the sewing machine without any movement between them. Finally, when the bag is sewn , it goes to another board to add the zippers , handles , locks ... and voila! We have a bag.Lacambra bags aremade by genuine leather, but in this manufacture are all kinds of animal skins, I found crocodile there. They get the animal skins from the feeding proccess, so animals are not sacrificed for leather bags .The bags can be armed or more flexible . For example the mini chic or the flat chic are very flexible, the skin is unarmed, but others have a more or less rigid interlayer according to the consistency you want in the bag.So this is how these lovely bags are made. Cristina designs all of them and her dreams come true in this manufacture. See, everything can be possible.
